This month we did a lot of sewing and beading, we did many bags and made many greeting cards.
We have more participants in school, so the number is 13 students now. I am happy that I have found the sponsors for these 13 children, but I am scared of the next year, I wish we will have sponsors for these kids to go to school for the next year and probably more time.
We all went to a movie called "Chuk Dey India", my Goddd, what an amazing film! Our girls were laughing, giggling and enjoyed it very much. They have learnt from this film to stay united and to make a goal in mind and also that nothing is impossible. It was good to see some thing empowering our girls after the film "Provouge" we saw a few months back when the woman in the end killed her husband to get rid of the problems she had with him at home…
There is a festival in India called Rakhi when sisters tie a string on brother's wrists and wish them luck and in return the brother promises that he would look after her and protect her all his life. Me and my brother used to wait for our cousins to come and do the ceremony to us and we had to wait whole of the day and some times they never showed up. Now I have soo many strings from our participants that my whole hand gets full of these colorful strings. I and Shakti don’t take them off whole day and feel blessed. |
