"Soziale Initiative" |
is a voluntary organisation (charitable company limited by guarantee) which works with “young people at risk” in a number of settings. Theoretically we can be funded by anyone, practically we are 100% funded by the provincial government of Upper Austria. The organisation has over 80 employees, 55 of which work in the mentoring teams.
The settings are: |
Mentoring: -Working with young people „where they are“ (at home with the family, in their own flat etc.etc...) with the aim that the young person can eventually take over full responsibility for their own lives and develop, healthily to adulthood and integration into society (with all ist norms and rules). |
Familiy Care: Working with families to develop their ability and responisibility in the care of their children. |
Wohnplatz: -Is a residential facility for young women. 60 % of the residents are either pregnant or have had their children. The main aim is to support these young women and young mothers to independence and security. |
Emergency Hostel: -This is a „no question asked“ crisis hostel for young people. Support and advice are offered but don’t have to be availed of. |
Parkfriederhof: -This is a special residential facility for young people whose problems are so severe that all other attempts at helping have failed. |
