Volunteering in India can be a great way to not only learn more about Indian culture, but how an NGO, like Sambhali Trust works. We request people interested in volunteering with us to please contact us with a letter stating interest, a resume and with any one reference. Due to experiences in the past we would like you to notice, that we are not interested in people who practice volunteer tourism and cannot accept people changing their plans for travelling while their committment with Sambhali Trust. People interested in volunteering for Sambhali Trust shall be committed and dedicated to this work and take it seriously.
Volunteers are requested to share with us their hobbies and interests before they come to Jodhpur. We respect new ideas and advices and are open to any information to make changes in the activities from the timetable to suite our volunteer and the participants. You are always welcome to come and visit our project if traveling through Jodhpur or Setrawa and are welcome to come and volunteer with us for some days, some weeks or some months. A Volunteering Certificate would only be given to volunteers working for 1 month or more. We also host guest volunteers for few weeks in between the volunteers time, they come over to share their ideas on different ways of teaching and sharing their knowledge on many related subjects: Art and Craft, Health and Hygiene, Gardening etc.
Accommodation for the Jodhpur Project is proposed at the Durag Niwas Guest House (simple room) for a special price of 10000 Rs for a month including three meals a day and wi-fi internet facility (on double sharing room 7500 Rupees extra only for the second person).
Accommodation for the Setrawa Project is proposed at Setrawa village, 110 km west of Jodhpur, on Jodhpur-Jaisalmer highway. You are offered a simple but comfortable accommodation for 4000 Rs a month in a homestay of a village host family, including 3 meals a day. Additional you pay for your travel to and from head office in Jodhpur on weekends and pay reasonable price for food/accommodation at Durag Niwas in Jodhpur on your weekends. It is approximately 9000 rs a month in total for individuals.
