Final Impression, February 2010 Mrs. Margrit Nobs
It has been two weeks since I came back from Jodhpur after having spent four months there as a volunteer for the Sambhali Trust.
My thoughts still remain there, and flying back home represented a difficult separation from the girls and the family. The moments I lived in India were full of emotions, various impressions, and work.
My work at the school has been a true bliss on my side; the bond created between the girls and I became stronger than everything I would have imagined, and I feel lucky to have had the chance to get to know their families and their everyday life, modest and humble.
The work made at the school gave me huge satisfaction, though sometimes it felt quite hard. I hope the result of this work is satisfactory, and that I have been able to bring in some durable support for the girls’ future. I promised I would go back to Jodhpur next year and work there for at least two months.
I would like to thank the whole family for accepting me as one of their members, as it really helped me get through those exhausting, yet magical four months. I had the honour to get close to the whole family and to take part in all the events happening around them.
I have lived a formidable and unforgettable experience that deeply enriched my life and will never leave my memories.
